The design has evolved from the first few thoughts that come to a person’s mind as they think, hear or read the word “TSUNAMI”. The varied thoughts about annihilation, calamity, loss of human life and how the humans stood united and helped each other to restore peace have their influence on the design. The building was designed based on the tsunami’s effects where the high walls in the backdrop depict the high tides destroying the surrounding while the interlocking braces of the sculpture depicts the unity of the humans who stood together, helping each other after bravely facing nature’s fury.
